How Triple Peak Construction Runs a Bathroom Renovation — Start to Finish

Bathroom renovations have a reputation for going wrong — contractors who disappear mid-project, timelines that stretch from three weeks to three months, hidden costs that blow the budget. We’ve heard every version of that story from homeowners who came to us after a bad experience elsewhere. Here’s exactly how we run a project from first conversation to final walkthrough. No surprises.

Step 1: Consultation Call

We start with a phone or video call — no commitment, no charge. We want to understand your vision, what’s frustrating about the space today, and what success looks like when the project is done. We’ll walk you through what working with Triple Peak actually looks like so you know what to expect. Based on the conversation and what we’ve seen on similar projects, we’ll give you a realistic ballpark before you ever have to invite us into your home.

Step 2: Onsite Meeting

If the ballpark works and we seem like a good fit, we come to you. We see the space in person, go deeper on scope, ask the questions that don’t come up over the phone — subfloor condition, plumbing layout, what’s behind the walls — and gather everything we need to build you an accurate proposal.

Step 3: Detailed Proposal

You get a written, itemized proposal with full scope of work, exact pricing for labor and construction materials, and a finish materials budget calibrated to your tastes and preferences. No lump sums. No vague allowances. You know exactly where every dollar goes before you sign anything. We review it together, answer every question, and adjust scope if needed.

Step 4: Design and Material Selection

Once you sign, we move into design. We help you select every finish — tile, vanity, fixtures, mirrors, lighting, hardware. We have supplier relationships across Northern Virginia and can guide you to options at every price point. One thing we’re direct about: this is where most projects stall. Homeowners get paralyzed choosing between 40 tile samples. We keep it moving with clear decisions and reasonable deadlines.

Step 5: Pre-Construction Meeting

Before a single tool comes out, we bring everyone together — you, your Project Manager, and your job foreman. You know exactly who is running your project and how to reach them. We confirm all materials are onsite and accounted for, the schedule is set, and there are no open questions before day one.

Step 6: Construction

Demo. Rough-in. Tile and build. Trim and fixtures. The work itself. This is where properly done preparation pays off — when the design is locked, materials are staged, and the right people are on the job, construction moves. The rough-in phase — plumbing, electrical, waterproofing — is where a 10-year bathroom versus a 3-year bathroom is decided. We do not skip steps here. Ever.

Step 7: Blue Tape Walkthrough

Before we call it done, we walk the project with you, item by item, tape in hand. Grout line, caulk gap, fixture alignment, paint edge — anything that isn’t right goes on the punch list. Nothing gets signed off until it’s handled.

Step 8: Enjoy Your Bathroom

The punch list is complete. The project is done. Actually done. We don’t disappear after the check clears — our labor is warranted and we stand behind our work. Now enjoy the space you built it for.

Realistic Timelines

Standard Hall Bathroom (5×8): 2–3 weeks construction.

Double Vanity Bathroom (~11×5): 3–4 weeks.

Primary Ensuite: 4–6 weeks.

These are construction timelines from demo day to final walkthrough, not including the design and selection phase beforehand.

What Makes Triple Peak Different

We are Veteran-owned and have been remodeling homes in Northern Virginia since 2013. We handle design, sourcing, and installation under one roof. You are not coordinating between a designer, a tile sub, a plumber, and a GC. One team, one point of contact, one standard. When you call, someone answers. When something comes up, we tell you.
